The Whiskey Row Marathon is the largest fund raiser for the James Family Prescott YMCA to assist children and families in financial need to participate in child care, swimming lessons, youth sports and gymnastics classes. As a family of four the Watson Lake Inn has been part of the YMCA organization for the past eleven years we lived in Wisconsin. We saw our children grow at the “Y” enjoying swimming lessons, summer camps at YMCA Camp Minikani or as a family doing Tae Kwon Do at the Tri-County “Y”. Now that we have moved to Prescott, we are proud to become part of the James Family Prescott YMCA and support this wonderful Marathon for a great cause and keep the memories growing at the “Y”.
It has come a long way since Al Clark began running marathons in his 50s. His love of running and his enthusiasm for helping others learn to “run for the fun of it” made him an inspiration to his friends, family and all of those who had the pleasure to run alongside him in the Whiskey Row Marathon.
At the Watson Lake Inn Bed and Breakfast we know training for a marathon is difficult but, marathon trainer experts will agree that with the right support and a good base camp the race becomes more fun, rewarding and more enjoyable than you ever thought possible.
The Watson Lake Inn welcomes you as your camp base for training, getting ready for the marathon, relax and enjoy the fantastic hiking and biking trails right here in the Dells. We also understand breakfast really is the most important meal of the day for marathon runners, supporters and their families. Here at Watson Lake Inn breakfast is part of our name and reputation to make sure the first meal of your day has the right amount of protein, fat, and carbs to give you the necessary energy to keep you feeling full, and ramp up your metabolism.
The food we offer is prepared daily by our wonderful Master Chef Peter Gebauer, AAC, WCMC, GMC. He uses mostly fresh Arizona grown seasonal products, leveraging his extensive background in culinary arts and a lifelong career covering the globe.
