Today’s lodging guests and diners want to see global flavors on the menus.

Duck egg, corned beef hash skillet
Breakfast with global flavors, prepared with local & seasonal products. From breakfast staples like bacon, sausage and ham for traditional menus, to classic dishes reinvented – think Eggs Benedict. And flavor-filled bowls, on-the-go handheld items; operators featuring menus with more ethnic-influenced choices to the delight of their customers.
Food is half the B&B experience, it is the most important way for us here to demonstrate a warm and stable atmosphere. At Watson Lake Inn we utilize Arizona grown products as much as possible sourced from our growing network of local producers.
Breakfast at Watson Lake Inn
We strive to take our customers on a global voyage of discovery while staying close at home with local ingredients. We frequently offer a choice of Duck, Turkey and Quail eggs from our favorite farm up in Paulden, AZ – much appreciated by our guests. While one guest may be pleased with Cantonese rice porridge with appropriate condiments, another may fancy Chilaquiles and Carnitas or straight forward artisan breads with an selection of cheese, sausages and ham, some fabricated in-house; we do strive to gauge our guests preferences and consider their ethnic background and heritage as well, the possibilities are endless.
From Korean Bibimpap to Southern Shrimp and Grits or Mexican Tamales; our guests expect to “travel” when they dine out and to boast on social media about the experience. And that applies to breakfast/brunch as well; Eggs bridge the gap between familiar and foreign. They are global citizens, at home everywhere—in Japanese Ramen, Israeli Shakshouka and a Mediterranean strata or Frittata to name a few.
Vegan, pescatarian, flexitarian…
For the many Americans who consider themselves “almost vegetarians,” a wild mushroom and egg strudel with pepper coulis, savory bread pudding with squash and tofu, maple syrup; Frittata with artichokes, spinach and house made ricotta could be the treat for them. For good reason, many nutritionists consider breakfast the most important meal of the day—for both children and adults. A high-protein breakfast helps you face your day, stay alert on the job and keep your appetite suppressed throughout the morning. And although it may seem counter-intuitive, skipping breakfast is a poor weight-loss strategy. Our brains need to refuel and a balanced breakfast jump-starts your metabolism. Eating breakfast tends to be a habit associated with folks who maintain a healthy weight.
Breakfast with global flavors, prepared with local & seasonal products, that is what we strive for at Watson Lake Inn.
